SILLAS NÓMADAS
El artista José Manuel Juárez presenta bajo este título una propuesta creativa desarrollada sobre una base poco convencional, utilizando butacas de diferentes épocas para sus obras, interviniendo tanto en la tapicería como en el propio armazón. Sillas, sillones y butacas de cierta antigüedad convertidos en cuadros, piezas a las que da una nueva oportunidad y alcanzan así una utilidad diferente a la que en su día sirvieron.

The artist José Manuel Juárez presents under this title ("Nomadic Chairs") a creative proposal developed over an unconventional base, using for his works chairs and armchairs from different periods, painting over both, upholstery and frame. All the pieces have certain antiquity and have been tunrned into decorative paintings, pieces with a new opportunity to reach another purpose, quite different from the one they were created for.

Sobre el artista:
Mi proceso artístico nace de la necesidad de incorporar mi pintura a soportes antiguos, sillas, sillones, revistas, periódicos y documentos de otras épocas, para lo que he utilizado tanto en los cuadros como en mi última colección "Sillas Nómadas", el armazón de las butacas así como el propio marco de las pinturas, de modo que todo forme parte de la misma obra.
La intención que busco es sorprender y emocionar visualmente al espectador, para mí el arte hay que disfrutarlo, no sufrirlo. Defino mi estilo como contemporáneo, fuera de cualquier "-ismo" pictórico. Es una pintura ecléctica al experimentar con diferentes estilos, como el pop art, el arte figurativo o el surrealista. Muchas de mis obras tienen poco o nada que ver con la anterior, tanto en los medios utilizados como en los soportes.
Las protagonistas de mis obras suelen ser mujeres y en mis creaciones utilizo variados elementos, como espray, pintura acrílica, grafito, rotuladores, collages... y aunque tengo a mis espaldas muchos años de experiencia como pintor decorador, me considero autodidacta en la creación artística, pues ni mi técnica ni mi inspiración se han forjado en academia o escuela alguna.
No he expuesto en muchos sitios, tal vez no he visto muchos momentos oportunos, por lo que algunas de mis obras han aguardado pacientemente en mi taller su oportunidad para ser mostradas y, aunque algunas de mis "Reynas" de la colección Sillas Nómadas ya han viajado fuera de España para decorar o ser protagonistas en otros espacios artísticos, la mayoría de mis intervenciones y muestras se han dado en mi ciudad de adopción, Zaragoza.
Algunas de mis piezas han servido como elemento decorativo en escaparates de moda de la ciudad.

Otras de mis pinturas decoran, sobre el lujoso soporte que suponen las antiguas butacas del Teatro Principal de Zaragoza, el hall de algún edificio emblemático de la capital aragonesa, como es el caso del Torreón Fortea. El Ayuntamiento decidió conservar parte de las butacas del teatro realizadas por Loscertales en 1940, como parte del patrimonio cultural mueble municipal. Para mí han resultado un marco perfecto sobre el que pintar. Próximamente podrán verse en más lugares...
Así continúo, siempre con la mirada puesta en nuevos materiales que utilizar, pasando horas sin fin en librerías de viejo y tiendas de antigüedades, en busca de piezas únicas o diferentes a las que dar una nueva oportunidad para salir de nuevo a la luz y con el pensamiento permanentemente dando vueltas alrededor de una nueva creación... Siempre esperando que el resultado sea para el disfrute del espectador que la quiera contemplar.

About the artist:
My artistic process was born from the need to incorporate my painting into old supports, such as chairs, armchairs, old magazines, newspapers and documents from other eras. Forthat purpose I have used, as much in the paintings as in my latest collection "NomadicChairs", both the structure of the seats and the frame of the paintings themselves, so that everything be part of the work in a same level.
The intention I am looking for is to surprise and visually thrill the viewer. For me, art must be enjoyed and not suffered.
I define my style as contemporary outside of any pictorial "-ism". It is an eclectic painting as I experiment with different styles such as pop art, figurative or surrealist art. Many of my works have little or nothing to do with the previous one, neither in the methods nor in the base used.
The leading characters of my works are usually women and in my creations I use assorted elements such as acrylic paint, sprays, graphite, markers, collages... and although I have behind me many years of experience as a decorative painter, I consider myself self-taught in artistic creation, because neither my technique nor my inspiration have been forged in any academy or school.
I have not exhibited my work in many places maybe because I have not seen the opportune moments, so, some of my works have patiently awaited in my workshop their opportunity to be shown and, although some of my "Reynas" from the Nomadic Chairs Collection have already traveled outside Spain to decorate or be protagonists in other artistic spaces, I have developed most of my interventions in Zargoza, my adoption city.
Several of my armchairs have decorated fashion shop windows in the city.

Other of my paintings on chairs decorate the hall of some emblematic building of the Aragonese capital, as it´s the Torreón Fortea, over the beautiful and luxurious base that provides the old seats of the most outstanding theater of Zaragoza (el Teatro Principal). The city council decided to preserve some of the theatre seats made by the prestigious cabinetmaker´s Loscertales in 1940, as part of the municipal movable cultural heritage. They became for me a perfect frame to paint on. Before long, they will be seen in some other places...
And so I continue, always with an eye on new materials to use, spending endless hours inside old bookstores, antique dealer´s shops and publications, looking for some unique or different pieces to which give a new opportunity and with my mind constantly circling around a possible new creation... Always hoping the result will delight any viewer who stops by to contemplate it.
